I just graduated from residency June 12! Exciting, yet I still have to work for two more weeks and do two more 30 hour ICU calls!!!
However, planning for my big move is now in full gear and that means creating a blog, as promised. I am also selling all my furniture, paring down the clothes and knickknacks to bare essentials, and borrowing storage space at my parents' house for all the winter gear.
I hope that this blog will be a good way for me to post pictures and stories about my trip, since the time difference is going to make phone calls very challenging, (Botswana is 6 hours ahead of EST). Also it will be a place where you all can keep in touch and keep me updated on your lives as I will likely need stories from the homeland every once in awhile ;)
Here is a map of Southern Africa, for all those wondering where exactly Botswana is!
I will be working with the Pediatric AIDS Corps, a program based out of Baylor College of Medicine. So first stop is Houston, Texas for some more training. I leave for Houston July 12th and for Botswana on July 27th.
